Square One at Putnam Academy is a lab classroom located in the Springfield Public School’s Putnam Academy High School. Freshman and Sophomore students enrolled in Putnam’s early childhood tract alternate weeks between our Square One classroom and their academic program. They engage with our children in the classroom, guided by our own Square One teachers and the Putnam high school early childhood staff, to learn the skills necessary to one day become teachers themselves.
The classroom is furnished and equipped with the latest technology. The site has a fabulous outdoor play space that is completely fenced. We are currently active participants in the Department of Early Education and Care’s Quality Rating and Improvement System.
An added bonus to our location, is the “internal field trips” the children are able to access. They include: gardening in the horticulture department, science activities with the high school science teachers, weekly story time in the library, and access to the gym for large motor play.
