“Serve with Liberty” Volunteers Eager to Help Square One Clean Up and Get Organized
A team of “Serve with Liberty” volunteers from Liberty Mutual Insurance visited Square One on April 27th, and 28th 2015 to help with important clean up and organization activities.
On April 27 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm, volunteers met at 255 King Street in Springfield, to clean Square One’s vans, inside and out. These vans provide transportation for preschoolers between their homes and Square One Children’s Centers in Springfield and Holyoke.
On April 28 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, volunteers met at the Family Square at 1095 Main Street in Springfield to organize Square One’s Reward Store. The Reward Store provides free home and health care products such as blankets and diapers as incentives for new parents who participate successfully in Square One parenting and family health programs.
Serve with Liberty is the Liberty Mutual Insurance global employee community service program. In 2014, more than 26,000 Liberty Mutual employees served in the communities where they live in and work, completing over 2,000 projects on behalf of 900 charities (including Square One) in 20 countries throughout the world.
According to Cara Cole, Advancement Associate for Square One, Liberty Mutual has reached out to Square One before and allowed their employees to volunteer to assist with projects that spruce up the organization’s facilities. “Last year about 20 Serve with Liberty volunteers participated and even more joined us this year,” Cole said.
